Casio Unveils £115 ‘Back to the Future’ Watch to Celebrate the Film’s 40th Anniversary

Casio is celebrating 40 years of Back to the Future with a limited-edition version of its legendary calculator watch, the CA-500WEBF — a nostalgic tribute that looks like it came straight from Marty McFly’s wrist.

The special release reimagines the classic 1980s CA-500 model, blending retro styling with distinctive details inspired by the DeLorean time machine. The digital face includes design cues from the car’s taillights and the famous OUTATIME licence plate, while the colourful calculator buttons are reminiscent of Doc Brown’s glowing dashboard circuits.

Flip the watch over, and you’ll find an engraved image of the Flux Capacitor, the fictional power source that made time travel possible at 88mph. The finishing touch is a Back to the Future logo etched onto the buckle.

Casio has also had fun with the presentation: the timepiece arrives in VHS-style packaging, complete with mock rental stickers — a clever nod to the way many first watched the sci-fi classic in the 1980s.

The company’s connection to Back to the Future runs deeper than nostalgia; Casio’s calculator watches actually appeared in the original film, and the model remains one of its most enduring designs.

The CA-500WEBF will go on sale on 21 October 2025 — a date fans recognise as “Back to the Future Day” — and will be available in limited quantities for £115 through Casio’s official website.

Whether worn proudly or kept pristine in its collector’s box, this edition promises to transport fans straight back to Hill Valley, 1985.
