Amazon’s New Colour Kindle Hits Record-Low Price Ahead of Prime Big Deal Days

Amazon has dropped the price of its new colour ereader to the lowest it’s ever been, just in time for the upcoming Prime Big Deal Days event.

The Kindle Colorsoft, released late last year, is the first Kindle to feature a full-colour e-ink display. While traditional black-and-white models are great for novels, this version brings vibrancy to graphic novels, cookbooks, magazines, and children’s stories — all while maintaining the classic glare-free screen that Kindles are known for.

Right now, the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is discounted by £70, bringing the price down from £269.99 to £199.99. The standard model also has the same £70 reduction, now available for £169.99, though it offers less storage and doesn’t include wireless charging. These deals are available until 8 October, and prices this low are unlikely to return soon.

The Colorsoft’s advanced display uses colour filters and a refined LED lighting system to produce subtle, pastel-like tones that enhance images and text alike. The Signature Edition offers 32GB of storage, wireless charging, and an auto-adjusting front light, all within a slim, comfortable design.

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your ereader, this is a particularly strong opportunity to do so before the main sale rush begins.

What Is Prime Big Deal Days?

Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon’s autumn sales event, following the main Prime Day held during the summer. The two-day sale offers exclusive discounts across major brands such as Dyson, Lenovo, and Eufy, as well as markdowns on Amazon’s own popular devices.

This year’s event begins on Tuesday, 7 October, and runs until 11:59pm on Wednesday, 8 October — a shorter window than the four-day sale earlier in the year, but one expected to feature equally significant savings.
